Vintage Enka Postcard

Brian Cook found this postcard online. It looks like there's only one smokestack in this picture. Does anyone know when the second one was added?

I have one from 1944, and it shows both stacks on it.
There are many of those old cards out there. I've seen many different kinds on eBay.
