If you're in the Enka branch of the public library soon, take a look at the exhibit in the meeting room. There are photographs of the early days in Hominy Valley, including a shot of Enka Village when it still had dirt roads!
Established in 1929, Enka Village is a community on the west side of Asheville, North Carolina. The neighborhood began as a mill village in conjunction with the nearby American Enka plant. The homes are now privately owned but retain the original architectural detail and community spirit of the mill village.
